RCRC Counties
RCRC was founded 40 years ago to represent California’s small, rural counties on issues that are unique to them. With over 2.7 million residents and comprising nearly 50 percent of the state’s land mass, the geography of our 31 member rural counties ranges from forested and mountainous landscapes to coastal areas, desert regions, farm lands and vineyards. Nearly 70 percent of U.S. Forest Service land in our state lies within RCRC member counties, providing statewide residents and other visitors with some of the world’s most scenic and breathtaking recreational opportunities.
