On May 12th, twenty-four U.S. Senators—including California Senators Feinstein and Padilla—wrote in a letter that the Secure and Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Banking Act would “help cannabis-related businesses, support innovation, create jobs, and strengthen public safety in our communities.” The nineteen Democrats and five Republicans who signed onto the letter also called for marijuana provisions to be included in the America COMPETES Act, which a bicameral conference committee will discuss at its first meeting this week.
