On June 8th, the Water Resources and Development Act (WRDA) of 2022 (H.R. 7776) overwhelmingly passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 384-37. This legislation provides authority for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to carry out water resources development projects and studies, as well as reforms and policy direction to the Corps for implementation of its civil works missions. The Senate still must take up its version of the 2022 Water Resources Development Act (S. 4137), which is slightly different from the House bill.
