On Tuesday, more than 600 experts and thought leaders in the wildfire mitigation space convened in San Francisco to discuss policies, technologies and strategies to further address California’s catastrophic wildfire issue. The Red Sky Summit, hosted by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and Convective Capital, was founded in 2023 to bring together diverse leaders in wildfire prevention and forest management.
This year, RCRC was among the attendees at the event, where topics ranged from community-scale mitigation to property insurance availability to forest policy opportunities. Detailed follow-up discussions provided an avenue for attendees to provide input on recommendations and solutions. The all-day event was attended by law makers, fire suppression experts, community mitigation practitioners, and government partners, which provided opportunity for stakeholders from all sides of the wildfire issue to find common ground.
