The Disadvantaged Communities Advisory Group is Seeking New Members!
Do you want to help state energy and climate action programs better serve California’s environmental and social justice communities?
Applications due January 30, 2026
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Energy Commission (CEC) are seeking applications to serve on the Disadvantaged Communities Advisory Group (DACAG). Pursuant to Senate Bill 350 (De León, Chapter 547, Statutes of 2015), the DACAG advises the CPUC and the CEC on how to design and implement policies and programs to be more effective on behalf of disadvantaged communities in the achievement of our clean energy and pollution reduction goals (Learn more about the communities the DACAG serve in their updated Equity Framework).
The DACAG is composed of 11 members from or representing disadvantaged communities throughout the state, including tribes. DACAG members reflect California’s diverse communities, including rural, urban, and represent an array of subject matter expertise, backgrounds, and communities. DACAG members are appointed for 2-year terms, and newly appointed members will begin on April 1, 2026. DACAG members meet monthly in hybrid meetings, set priorities, and participate in other subject matter meetings and events. More information about the DACAG, including the Charter, current members, past meeting recordings and other materials can be found on the DACAG website.
Please note that applicants must go through a review for potential conflicts and must be approved by a vote of both Commissions to be appointed to serve on the DACAG.
