Yolo County is seeking qualified professionals for two positions within its Human Resources Department

Yolo County is currently seeking motivated and experienced professionals to join their Human Resources team. They are looking to fill two key vacancies: Human Resources Manager and Personnel Specialist II (Confidential).

 

Human Resources Manager

The Yolo County Human Resources Department is looking for motivated and experienced human resources professionals and leaders to fill an at-will, full-time Human Resources Manager position. The incumbent will oversee recruitment, classification, labor relations, benefits, and compliance with Merit System Rules, CalPERS requirements, and employment laws.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, or related field; AND
  • Experience: Five (5) years of full-time experience in a public sector human resources office or other department performing professional level analytical work in areas such as payroll, recruitment, classification and compensation, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, organizational development, fiscal and administrative functions related to personnel management and/or staff development.
    • At least two (2) of the five (5) years must be at the supervisory or management level.

Substitution Note: A Master’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, or related field may substitute for one (1) year of the non-supervisory experience.

License

Personnel Specialist II (Confidential)

The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one (1) regular, full-time position in the class of Personnel Specialist II (Confidential) within the Human Resources Department. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, this position is the first point of contact at the front desk, receiving and assisting customers who come into the office. Additionally, the position supports with payroll, personnel actions, benefits, workers’ compensation, risk management, and HRIS activities and updates.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Is skilled in computer applications with a quick ability to adapt and learn a new system and processes.
  • Is a positive, customer focused, self-directed individual who enjoys working in reception or front-desk setting.
  • Is comfortable in a fast-paced, detail-oriented position serving the public and County of Yolo employees and departments.
  • Has experience managing confidential and/or personnel records, preferably within a government or unionized environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of responsible clerical experience in support of various human resources functions such as personnel actions, payroll, benefits, safety/risk management, training, or other similar human resources function.

License
