Disaster Mitigation and Tax Parity Act Introduced in U.S. House

On March 5, Congress Members Doug LaMalfa (R-Butte), Mike Thompson (D-Napa), Jimmy Panetta (D-Carmel Valley), and Greg Murphy, M.D. (R-NC) introducedthe Disaster Mitigation and Tax Parity Act in the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation exempts from federal taxes the rebates that homeowners receive for hardening their homes against natural disasters. Read the press release here. 

This is a companion bill to S.336, a measure with the same name, which was introduced on January 30, by Senators Tom Tillis (R-NC), California Senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff, and eight others.
