Edward “Jeff” Goldman, of Nevada City, has been appointed to the State Advisory Group on Youth Justice. Goldman has been Chief Probation Officer at Nevada County Probation since 2021, where he was Program Manager from 2015 to 2021. He held several positions at Yolo County Probation from 2004 to 2015, including Program Manager, Supervisor Probation Officer, Senior Probation Officer, and Deputy Probation Officer. Goldman was a Police Recruit at the Sacramento Police Department from 2002 to 2003. He was a Deputy Probation Officer at Placer County Probation from 2001 to 2002. Goldman is a member of Child Advocates of Nevada County. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Missouri and a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. This position does not require Senate confirmation, and there is no compensation. Goldman is a Democrat.
