After weeks of searching, the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection (BOF) has named a new Executive Officer. Late last week, Tony Anderson was appointed by the BOF as the Executive Director, replacing Edith Hannigan who left earlier this year.
Andersen moves to the BOF from the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA), where he recently served as Deputy Secretary for Communications. Before his time at CNRA, Andersen spent time at CAL FIRE after several years in governmental leadership roles impacting resources issues in the state of Oregon.
The BOF is responsible for developing California’s forest and fire protection policy, including regulations such as Zone 0.
