On Wednesday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Sacramento District announced that it has finalized its Record of Decision (ROD) for the proposed Sites Reservoir Project, following completion of its National Environmental Policy Act review.
The ROD documents the Corps’ evaluation of the project and informs future permit decisions under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act.
The Decision reflects the collaborative work of the Army Corps of Engineers, the Sites Project Authority, the Bureau of Reclamation, Environmental Protection Agency, and other agencies to reach this milestone.
The Record of Decision is one step in the federal review process and does not predetermine the outcome of any future permit evaluations. Any future permit applications will be evaluated by USACE in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
