On Tuesday June 10, in a 51-44 vote, the U.S. Senate confirmed Stephen Vaden to serve as Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture. In this role, Mr. Vaden will oversee the department’s daily operations.
Vaden previously served as General Counsel to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) during President Trump’s first term. In 2020, President Trump appointed Vaden to serve on the United States Court of International Trade. He is a native of Union City, Tennessee, and he continues to help manage his family farm.
