On Friday June 26, the SB 54 Advisory Board will devote their meeting to reviewing the draft SB 54 Producer Responsibility Plan. The draft plan will be published by Circular Action Alliance on its website by June 15. This meeting will be an important opportunity for stakeholders to review and comment on the Producer Responsibility Organization’s plan for investing in technology, reuse/refill programs, recycling system improvements, end markets, outreach and education, and more to achieve the SB 54 targets. The draft plan must also include a process for determining and paying costs incurred by local jurisdictions and their service providers.
The Advisory Board will also have subsequent meetings on July 17 and August 7 to review and solicit input on the draft plan. Circular Action Alliance will provide a presentation on the draft plan at the June 26 meeting, and then the remainder of the meeting will be dedicated to discussion and public input. The deadline for CalRecycle to take action on the draft program plan is December 27th.
