CalRecycle will host a webinar on how SB 1383 intersects with SB 54 on Wednesday, June 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The webinar will also cover Circular Action Alliance’s (CAA) Reimbursement Program; jurisdiction enforcement; jurisdictions assessing the SB 54 covered materials categories in their collection programs; and the recycling service provider exemption process for SB 54.
SB 54 will require local governments to include in their recycling and composting collection programs those single use packaging materials identified by CalRecycle as being recyclable or compostable. CAA’s implementation plan will be submitted to CalRecycle for review in mid-June. Local governments will have to ensure their collection programs include listed recyclable and compostable packaging materials once the plan is approved.
