On May 7, USDA Secretary Rollins announced plans to expedite the distribution of $21 billion in Congressionally-appropriated disaster assistance for farmers and ranchers impacted by recent natural disasters. The rollout includes payments under the Emergency Livestock Relief Program and several phases of the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program. USDA indicated that payments for livestock losses tied to drought and wildfire are expected to begin later this month, with other programs to follow on a rolling basis.

A tracking portal has been launched to provide ongoing updates on sign-up periods and payment processing. For more information, including the Disaster Assistance Program Timeline, see the press release here.
