California lawmakers are growing increasingly concerned about federal staffing cuts at the National Weather Service, which they say are harming the state’s agriculture industry and putting critical fire operations in jeopardy.

A record-high 96% of Californians had access to internet—including satellite—at home in 2023, the year of most recent data. This is up from 92% in 2019. Access increased most among historically marginalized communities: 95% of Black households had internet, up from 88% in 2019; increases were similar among Latino, low-income, and rural households, as well as households headed by non–college graduates.
Tulare County pistachio company expands to Northern California – The Business Journal
A Central Valley pistachio company has expanded to Northern California with the opening of a new facility. Setton Pistachio of Tera Bella, Inc. in Tulare County, the country’s second-largest pistachio grower and processor, has announced the opening of its new pistachio processing facility in Zamora in rural Yolo County north of Sacramento.
