On Wednesday, May 18th, Governor Newsom announced the latest round of awards granted in Project Homekey, a program administered by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). This program provides grant funding to cities, counties, or other local public entities within California to purchase and rehabilitate housing, hotels, motels, vacant apartment buildings, and other buildings and convert them into interim or permanent, long-term housing.

The Town of Mammoth Lakes will receive more than $4.5 million for the acquisition and rehabilitation of the Innsbruck Lodge, which will ultimately provide 16 units of permanent housing for those experiencing homelessness. To read more about this project, view the full announcement here.
