Butte County Supervisor Doug Teeter Installed as Chair of Rural County Representatives of California

SACRAMENTO, CA –  On Wednesday, January 18, Butte County Supervisor Doug Teeter was installed as the Chair of the Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC), a service organization that champions policies on behalf of its 40 member counties. Supervisor Teeter took the Oath of Office as administered by Assembly Member James Gallagher and will lead the advocacy organization throughout 2023.

“RCRC’s vision is to be the premier advocate and innovative service provider for rural counties in California,” said Supervisor Teeter. “As Chair, I will work with all RCRC Board of Directors and staff to advocate for policies and solutions that support rural communities and rural county governments.”

RCRC’s Board of Directors is headed by four officers composed of elected County Supervisors from the organization’s 40 member counties. Butte County has been a member of RCRC since 1976. Joining Supervisor Teeter on the leadership team are Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez, who will serve as First Vice Chair, Modoc County Supervisor Geri Byrne, who will serve as Second Vice Chair, and Inyo County Supervisor Matt Kingsley as Executive Committee Member At-Large. The newly installed 2023 Officers will guide the organization in shaping public policies for California’s rural counties.

“The strength of our organization lies within the dedication and commitment of my colleagues on the Board and our excellent staff,” added Supervisor Teeter. “My commitment is to continue our collaborative effort to benefit California’s rural counties. Together, we can continue to move RCRC member counties forward in Sacramento, Washington, D.C., and other locations to uplift the voice of rural California.”
